Being in USA was 3 years of educating self to be independent, follow rules and walk fast. One morning with my hands closed, I was standing in front of a painting which had texture of a piece of wood or broken door. My professor who was outside my studio, saw me practicing meditation and chanting mantras softly so that I could hear only.
I was being trained figuratively and was just back from a fully funded education plein-air painting education program from Italy. What is it Pooja? asked my professor.
My art is an interpretation of transformation of trees into doors. These portraits of door are from religious places. I believe these doors have life in them, similar to a tree. Every material object in the same manner is changing constantly. Yet the basic attribute (Guna), essential character, remains forever. I experience a similar transformation within myself when i listen to mantras.
